Building electrification means switching your building from fossil fuels like natural gas, oil, or propane to electricity. It uses electric appliances and systems for heating and cooling. It also uses them for cooking and other major energy needs. Choosing electric equipment can improve indoor air quality. It also makes your building more resilient and lowers future wildfire and smoke risks. It reduces maintenance, cuts energy costs, and lowers greenhouse gas emissions.
If you own or manage a property, PACE can help you support your tenants, build long‑term value, and stand out in the market. Our programs make it easier to move forward with electrification, and our expert advisors can connect you with contractors, new technology options, and financial incentives that help reduce costs.
¿Por qué es importante la electrificación de edificios?
- Lower emissions: Electric systems create less carbon pollution. This becomes even more true as Colorado uses cleaner energy.
- More energy-efficient: Many electric systems, like heat pumps, use less energy than gas equipment. This can lower your energy use and in some cases, reduce costs.
- Cleaner indoor air: Electric systems avoid indoor pollution from burning gas. This can help improve indoor air and support the health of people inside.
- More flexible power use: Electric buildings can adjust when they use electricity. With simple smart controls, they can join programs that help keep the grid steady during busy times.
¿Cómo puede PACE ayudar a mi empresa a electrificarse?
PACE offers two rebates to support building electrification.
- Engineering Design rebate: Helps pay for the planning work needed to prepare an electrification project within the next year. Covered costs can include load checks, equipment details, electrical capacity reviews, commissioning, and similar steps.
- Electric Infrastructure Upgrade rebate: Helps pay for electrical upgrades that support new electric building systems.
PACE also offers rebates for many types of heat pumps. These include rooftop hybrid units, ground‑source heat pumps, and heat‑pump water heaters.
